This document provides instructions on selecting a target contact database for your email to target campaigns. These databases will return the relevant contact based on an entered postcode.

Selecting a database

In page-builder

Selecting a target database, or databases, for your page-builder email-to-target or tweet-to-target campaign can be done in the Admin page of your campaign (the Target Settings panel), which can be accessed via the settings icon .

In the legacy Advocacy tools

Selecting a target database for the campaign can be done in a campaign's 'Admin' panel.

This can be found under the navigation menu item 'Campaigns > Manage campaigns' and then clicking on the 'Admin' settings icon for a campaign.  Admin settings icon

• MSPs/AMs/MLAs/England MP 
• MEPs 
• Councillors - Upper Tier (for postcodes that have a two-tier council, this will return their county councillors. For single-tier it will return their borough, unitary or district councillors)
• District/Unitary Authority Councillors (for postcodes that have a two-tier council, this will return their unitary or district councillors)
• County Councillors (this will only return county councillors, so doesn’t cover the whole of the UK)
• District/Unitary/Borough Council leaders
• County Council Leaders
• Local newspapers - letters to the editor
• House of Lords [1]
• Health and Wellbeing Board Chairs - England only
• Police Commissioners 
• London Assembly members 
• Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Chairs - England only OR England and their equivalents in Northern Ireland (Health and Social Care Trusts), and Scotland and Wales (Health Boards)

[1] Our House of Lords database is not related to postcode. To campaign to the Lords, we have a randomiser that enables your supporters to email different Lords, one by one. Please contact Support for more information.
